BUS AND CAR COLLIDE
Woman Seriously Injured
A woman suffered serious head and other injuries in a collision between a car and a Christchurch Transport Board bus at the corner of Gasson and Wordsworth streets about 8.40 a.m. yesterday. She is Mrs Mabel Elizabeth Winter, of 150 Huxley street, Christchurch, who was taken by St. John ambulance to the Christchurch Public Hospital and admitted. Last evening she was reported to be on the seriously ill list. Heavy rain was falling when a car driven by Mr Henry Frederick Winter, aged 54, of 150 Huxley street, and the bus, driven by Mr Stanley Fee Redmond, of 31 Hay street, Bryndwr, collided. The impact threw the small car on to its side and it was very extensively damaged. Mr Winter was treated at the casualty department for shock and discharged.
