N.Z. WOOL BOARD ELECTION
Three Members Due To Retire
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 6. Their first-year term of office having expired, three of the six woolgrowers’ representatives on the New Zealand Wool Board arc due to retire in August, and there will be an election among growers to fill the vacancies. The three retiring members all offer themselves for re-election. They are: Mr J. Acland (Geraldine). Mr A. Briscoe Moore (Whansarei), and Mr G. W. Powdrell (Wairoa). Nominations of candidates are now being invited. Every candidate must be nominated by a woolgrower, seconded by another woolgrower, and must accept nomination in writing. A woolgrower is a sheep farmer owning not less than 100 sheep. Nominations close on June 19.
Elderly Man Dies
From Injuries
(New Zealand Press Association) NAPIER, May 6.
An elderly Marewa man died at the Napier Public Hospital this morning as the result of injuries received when the bicycle he was riding ran into a stationary car in Bedford road. Marewa, at 6.30 p.m. on Saturday. He was: John Davidson, aged 73. of Nuffield avenue.
He received a fractured spine and lacerations to the scalp in the accident, in which he was flung over the handlebars of his bicycle.
