No Post Office At Sockburn
Residents of Sockbum have bad no postal facilities recently, since the postal service in a local store is no longer available. The Faparua County Council is concerned at the lack, and has made representations to the Chief Postmaster (Mr R. Elcock).
“We will be happy to establish a post, office at Sockburn with full facilities as soon as we can find somewhere to go,” said Mr Elcock yesterday. “The immediate requirement is to find suitable temporary premises in which we can operate a post office.’ 11 The Post Office is at present negotiating for a site on which to build a new office.
