WIN FOR IRISH FOLLY

(ZV.Z. Press Association—Copt/rightf SYDNEY, February 15. The New Zealand-bred Irish Folly proved himself a tough and improving galloper .when he won the Rosehill Handicap yesterday. Until yesterday Irish Folly had not raced beyond one mile. His trainer, Tom Smith, decided to try him out over the middle distance to gauge whether it was worth continuing his preparation for the Sydney Cup. Irish Folly, a 7 to 4 favourite, trailed the leaders, and after being third into the straight, beat off challenges by Ruthless Don, Treasured Link and Braemar. Since returning from a spell last November, Irish Folly has won four of his seven races. He is a horse with rare courage. Irish Folly is engaged in all the major handicaps this autumn, both in Sydney and Melbourne, from six furlongs to two miles. .
