Sin Vivian Fuchs, leader of the British expedition which last year made the first trans-Antarctic land crossing, said today that international airlines will almost certainly some day use the Antarctic as a regular stopping base for aircraft. . He said it was likely tbat air routes eventually will be established between South America and Australasia. “There is no reason why flying stops cannot be established across the \Antarctic,” he said. Sir Vivian Fuchs said the next challenge for man is exploring the bottom of the ocean. He told Canadian Press there “is so much we don't know about the sea. that man must dive for himself to And out”
