Obituary MR W. G. MILLER
Mr William George Miller, a former manager of the Bank of New Zealand in Auckland and a former president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, has died, aged 72. Born in Christchurch in 1887, Mr Miller joined the Bank of New Zealand in Wanganui in 1903. He was later transferred to Featherston, Te Awamutu, and Palmerston North. He was appointed accountant at Palmerston North in 1923 and at Christchurch in 1924, and four years later became manager of the Palmerston North branch. After five years he went to Auckland as manager, a post he held for 18 years, until he retired at the beginning of 1951. Mr Miller is survived by his wife, one son and four daughters.
