Dunedin Trial By Blue Prince
The promising' southern year-old, Blue Prince, will pace an exhibition mile after the first race on the opening day of the Forbury Park Trotting Club’s summer meeting tomorrow. The Hal Tryax colt has shown marked ability in his few appearances at trials. He was first produced at Wyndham in October and was credited with four furlongs from- a standing start on a dead track in Imin 4 l-ssec. His next appearance was at a matinee at Gore. After being checked early, he ran out an easy winner after taking 2min 15 3-ssec for the mile, the last half in Imin ssec.
Blue Prince also gave an exhibition at a recent Alexandra non-totalisator meeting, recording Imin 5 l-ssec for half a mile The New Zealand record for one mile against time by a two-year-old is 2min 2 l-ssec returned by Brahman in 1953 at Addington.
