Company News G. J. COLES BONUS ISSUE
Huge Share Parcel To Brokers (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 21. The directors of G. J. Coles, Ltd., Australian chain-store retailers agreed at a meeting on January 1 to issue 2,4000,000 ordinary shares to lan Potter and Company, sharebrokers, at 17s 9d less brokerage. A bonus issue to ordinary stockholders of one-for-|0 will be made in August. An interim dividend of 22-5 d a unit is payable on March 14, ex February 7.
The one-for-10 scrip issue will rank for dividend from July 1. this year. The company is also issuing 270,000 ordinary 5S shares to the staff at a premium of 5s each. The directors advise that sales for the half year to December 27, 1958, showed an increase over those for the same period of 1957. Profits were maintained.
I.CJ., A., N.Z.—lmperial Chemical Industries of Australia and New Zealand, Ltd., wiH pay an interim ordinary dividend of 5 per cent, on March 31—ex March 2.—(P.A.)
