Although the. yarding of fat cattle at the Burnside sale today, of. 311, was 50 head above last week’s total, the demand remained, fairly steady and prices 'for aU .classes could generally be quoted^xonai-5-pbr, The majority Jof the yarding was made up of medium-weight cattle/quality being quite good. Fat sheep numbers would be up about 300 on the previous week’s yarding of 1955. Most of the increase was due to a heavier yarding of ewes, and in this section values would be better by 3s to 4s. However, the demand was easily satisfied and with the quality in the last race or two not of a high standard, the sale finished on a dull note.

Quotations Fat Cattle.—Prime heavy bullocks, to £64 17s 6d; prime, £54 17s 6d to £59 7s 6d; prime medium, £46 17s 6d to £5O 17s 6d; light, from £36 12s 6d. Prime heavy heifers, to £4B 2s 6d; prime, £4O 2s fid to £43 7s fid; prime medium, £34 7s 6d to £3B 2s 6d; light, from £27 17s fid. TINWALD SALE The store sheep yarding at the Tinwald sale yesterday consisted almost entirely of store lambs, totalling about 4000, These sold at recent rates with practically no passings. Studholme (Coldstream), first cross halfbred wether lambs, 64 at 25s 6d, 33 at 40s 6d; first cross halfbred ewe lambs. 94 ajt 37s 6d. 20 at 435. Account.
