AIR SERVICES DELAYED
Rough Weather In North Island
Most of the National Airways Corporation flights were behind schedule yesterday, but this was mainly because of rough weather in the North Island. Whenuapai airport, Auckland, was closed most of the morning, and the Viscount did not complete its scheduled two return trips from CHristchurch until nearly 10 p.nu, instead of 550 pjn. Paraparaumu airport was closed on Tuesday night and yesterday Hamilton, Ohakea and Woodbourne airports were closed for varying periods. Conditions at Invercargill were marginal. This put all schedules behind, but by this morning the corporation expects to have aircraft of its Douglas fleet positioned for schedules to be resumed normally.
