Temporary Repairs

Effected

(New Zealand Press Association) NELSON, January 15. With a large patch stuck on her port side, the damaged Wellington keeler, Matatua, has been towed to Port Nelson from Whakatahuri, Pelorus Sound, for slipping. Owned by Mr Ken Stutter, the 36ft yacht went ashore on a boulder bank at the entrance to Greville harbour. Durville Island, on the night of January 2. She was later towed off in a sinking condition by the Nelson fishing launch, lona, and beached for temporary repairs. The keeler will be inspected by her owner and Lloyds Insurance representatives tomorrow. Matatua is one of New Zealand’s top line, A class keelers and is wellequipped for ocean cruising. Rigging and fittings are of stainless steel, and her cabin is attractively appointed. When the yacht ran aground the owner and crew of two were on board for a cruise in Tasman Bay and the Marlborough Sounds.
