STOLEN CAR RECOVERED

A. Christchurch-owned car, which was stolen in Blenheim on Monday night, was recovered in Cambridge terrace yesterday morning. It is believed that the car was used to transport a safe and its £3OO contents from the Blenheim office of the, National Airways Corporation. The safe was stolen from Blenheim about 2 a.m. on Tuesday and it is believed that the thieves soon after drove the car to Christchurch.
The .car is owned by a Christchurch real estate agent, Mr R. K. Baker. He brought his car from Wellington to Picton on the Rangatira on Monday afternoon and was due to return to Christchurch to start work yesterday. After he discovered the loss oi his car, the police associated it with the theft and he decided to stay in Blenheim until it was recovered. Now he will travel to Christchurch by rail-car.
