TOUR BY U.K SCOUTS
Comprehensive NZ Itinerary

The five scouts who comprise the United Kingdom contingent to the recent Pan-Pacific jamboree in Auckland will be prepared to answer any questions on New Zealand when they return home. The group is making an extremely thorough and extensive tour, which includes nearly all the places of note in the Dominion.
Before the jamboree, the scouts visited North Auckland, including the Bay of Islands and Waitapgi. They arrived in Wellington from Auckland . last night, and spent today looking round the capitaL Tomorrow they will leave for Napier, and from there go. to Rotorua by way of Taupo. Hamilton, the Waitomo Caves, and New Plymouth will be visited by the group before it returns to Weilington on Thursday, January 22. The scouts will then start a comprehensive tour, of the, South Island. Starting at' Picton\ they will go to Blenheim, Westport, Greymouth, the Franz Josef glacier, Christchurch (by way of Arthur’s Pass), Dunedin. Roxburgh, Queenstown, Ashburton, Kaikoura, and back to Blenheim. “We have been very impressed by what we have seen so far—and we’ve Only nibbled at it,” sold Mr Roome, the scoutmaster, who comes from Derby. of the contingent are Guy Sankey, aged 13. from Ightham, Kent; Derek Barow. aged 17, from Birmingham; Michael Horner, aged 17, from Leek; Mr Michael Bull, aged 23, from Southend-on-Sea, the assistant scoutmaster; and Mr Roome. Some members of the party received financial assistance for the trip from their local scout associations. Others are paying all the costs themselves.
