WORLD RECORD BY HANIF
Praise From Sir Donald Bradman
(N.Z Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, January 13. Sir Donald Bradman today praised Hanif Mohammad’s world record
score of 499 not out. This beat the previous world record of 452 not out scored by Sir Donald Bradman.
Sir Donald Bradman said: “I heartily congratulate Hanif Mohammad on achieving this world record score. By his earlier performances it was clear that Hanif was a player of exceptional ability, and now we have further evidence of it.
“This innings ensures that cricket audiences everywhere will be anxious to see him play and should add considerably to the Interest of Aus-
tralia’s projected tour of India and Pakistan next summer.
“I am personally delighted to see further evidence of the mounting skill of the younger cricket nations. 1 feel that the growing cricket stature of countries other than England and Australia, plus the tremendous enthusiasm for the game in places like India and Pakistan, will mean a great deal to i the game of cricket in the coming years,” he
