VAN OUT OF CONTROL
Driver Suffers Head
Injuries
When the steering gear of a pre-war American van jammed, the van, completely out of control, careered along Bealey avenue late yesterday afternoon and came to rest up against a tree in the middle of the Avenue. The driver, Ernest Robert Sutton, of 194 Bealey avenue, suffered head injuries and was taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital by a St. John ambulance. His condition was reported as comfortable and fairly satisfactory last evening.
