Shearing Record Broken
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 1. Trevor Brough, of Okaihau, broke the world shearing record yesterday, shearing 501 Cheviot-Romney cross ewes in a nine-hour day. This broke the record of 457, established in December, 1953, by Mr Ivan Bowen. The official tally for each of Mr Brough’s hour-long runs is:—ss, 57, 57, 57, 55, 54, 55. 58, 53.
