Cabinet Changes Announced (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SALISBURY, December ». The Prime Minister of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. Sir noy Wtelensky, has increased the size of his Cabinet from seven to nine following the General Flection of November 12. Sir Roy Welensky will retain the portfolio of External Affairs and "for the tiine being” that-of Defence, an official announcement said. Five Ministers in the old Cabinet—Sir Malcolm Barrow, Mr J. M. Greenfield. Mr Donald MacIntyre, Mr Frank Owen, and Mr William Eastwood—will retain their portfolios of Home Affairs and Power, Law, Finance, Commerce and Industry, and Transport respectively. Mr Owen will also take over as Minister of Posts from Mr MacIntyre, and Mr John Caldicott. former Minister of Agriculture, has the new portfolio of Economic Affairs. He will also be Minister of Public Service. The new Minister of Agriculture is Mr John Graylln, and Mr B. D. Goldberg, former Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, will become Minister of Health and Education. Mr Rex L’Ange, formerly Parliamentary Secretary for Public Works, is the new Minister of Works. Sir Roy Welensky has decided to follow the British practice of not including all Ministers in the Cabinet, and Mr L’Ange will be excluded. Mr Greenfield will be Leader of the House.
