PARLIAMENTARY CONFERENCE
Two N.Z. Women M.P.’s To Attend
(Neto Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 10.
Dame Hilda Ross (Opposition, Hamilton) and Mrs I. M. Ratana (Government, Western Maori) will make Parliamentary history when they leave Wellington by ship tomorow for Curacao. From there they will fly to Barbados. It will be the first occasion that two women M.P.’s have represented the Dominion at any Commonwealth Parliamentary Association conference and the first occasion that a woman M.P. has been included in New Zealand representation at the conference. The meeting is to be held in Bridgetown, and will last for about a week. It is expected that Dame Hilda Ross and Mrs Ratana will arrive back in New Zealand on January 22.
