A British Overseas Airways Britannia flew the 3296 miles from Montreal to London today in the record commercial time of 7hr 27min. The previous fastest Britannia time was Bhr lOmin. j The scheduled time for the flight is 9hr smin. Today’s Britannia carried 29 passengers. The first non-stop London to New York commercial flight was made today by a Pan American W orld Airways Boeing 707 jetliner. It flew the 3500 miles in Bhr 31min, with 88 passengers. In Johannesburg today, a 8.0.A.C. spokesman said it was hoped to introduce the Comet IV jet airliner on the United King-dom-South African route towards the end of next year. Five Comet services a week to Sydney from London were expected about the same time.
