(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 10. Lord Shackleton, son of Sir Ernest Shackleton, surprised the House of Lords last night by saying he had a former cannibal friend who frequently came to Britain “without falling foul of the immigration officials.” He announced this during a speech urging the Government to do away with many x>f the restrictions on the entry of aliens. They should be dealt with, by the ordinary law of the land, as was the case with British subjects, like his former cannibal friend, Lord Shackleton said. He said this, friend had rtaver sought to introduce the cult of cannibalism in Britain. But even if he had wished to there would be nothing to stop him under present legislation because he was a British subject, and could come to Britain as a right. Later Lord Shackleton was asked to give further details about his friend, but he refused.
