Hint Of British Election
(Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON. Dee. 10. The Prime Minister, Mr Macmillan, has decided to hold a General Election in Britain in the spring, according to the “Daily Herald.” This was understood to be the meaning of his quip to Mr Aneurin Bevan in Parliament yesterday that “the inquest of the nation may be sooner than you think,” the newspaper said. A spring election after February would enable the Prime Minister to keep his earlier promise of “no election this winter,” it said.
