BURNSIDE STOCK SALE
(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, November 12. There was a smaller yarding of fat cattle, numbering 278, as against 422 last week, penned at the Bumaide sale today. There was a large number of cows included in the entry, and the quality of the yarding on the whole was not of a high standard. The quality of the spring lambs has been of a consistently high standard each week, and, because of this, butchers have competed freely. The range of prices for this week’s yarding of 85 as against 60 last week was from 54s Id to 68s Id. with one lamb making 84s Id. Once again adult sheep were to hand in large numbers, 3515, as against 3966 last week. As was to be expected after the previous week’s heavily over-supplied market, the demand was quieter, the sale opening up at prices 3s to 4s easier.
