Stones Thrown Into Tanks
Hornby school children have been told to stop throwing stones into the septic tanks on the I Wycola subdivision. I One has had hundreds of stones
thrown into and around it, and the Christchurch Drainage Board will have a problem to clean it out. After a complaint was made last month the board’s chief inspector found hundreds of large stones in the No. 1 tank, near Wycola park. The headmaster of the Hornby school (Mr H. S. Kibblewhite), at the board’s request, warned the children. Part of the wooden cover over the tank was off at the time, but this has now been renewed by the board.
