Yachtsman Sails Round World

(Rec. 9 p.m.) DARWIN, Sept. 26. A bearded London yachtsman, Norman Egerton Young, aged 66. has not slept ashore since April, 1954. Since that time he has sailed his 43-foot yacht, Diano. around the world.

“Who would sleep ashore and listen to taxis, trains, telephones and the bustle of life when you can sleep on the sea and listen to the lap of water against the hull?” he said today. Young said it had always been his ambition to take a long cruise when he was retired—now he was doing so. Next week he sails across the Indian Ocean for South Africa.
