Mr M. A. Connelly, member Of Parliament for Riccarton, was elected honorary auditor for the New Zealand branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association at the branch's annual meeting this week. Mr C. T. Smallbone, of the Justice Department’s Wellington office, has been appointed Director of Central Services in the S.E.A.T.O. Secretariat Mr Smallbone, who is married with three children, is expected to take up his appointment in Bangkok early in November.—(PA) Dr. James H. Shoemaker, a vicepresident of the Bank of Hawaii, and the chairman of the Hawaii Visitors’ Bureau, will arrive in Auckland next Sunday for a short New Zealand visit under the auspices of the Reserve/ Bank.—(P.A.) > ML. Mr Frank Newman, producer for the Canterbury Repertory Theatre Society since 1954, has agreed to an extension of his engagemeat to the end of 1960. Mr Newmarfl engagement was extended tor two years in 1957.
