N.Z.-Bred Horses Win (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Sept. 25. New Zealand-bred horses won the two main races, the Invitation Stakes and the weight-for-age Underwood Stakes at the Melbourne Racing Club's show day meeting at Caulfield today. Gay Saba (Sabaean—Dunmurry), ridden by the Victorian jockey, A. Burton, scored a surprise win at 12 to 1 in the Invitation Stakes, and Lord (Targui Broadway) easily won the Underwood Stakes. Gay Saba beat the South Australian mare Myheerah by a neck. The Victorian mare, Just Marguerite, finished a close half-head away third. Wiggle Plunge Making her Victorian race debut, Australia’s brilliant three-year-old filly Wiggle, was the medium of a plunge which started her favourite at 7 to 2. Wiggle looked to have the race won at the turn into the straight, but suddenly tired \ and finished fourth.

Lord recorded his fifth successive win, when he easily defeated his rivals in the Underwood Stakes. Lord led all the way and. although he veered out in the straight, he still had four lengths to spare from Lord Gavin, with White Hills two lengths back third. The Underwood Stakes was Lord’s third successive weight-for-age win. Lord has now started 20 times for 10 wins—eight of them at Caulfield, which have earned £11,225 in stakes.
