Observatories on Pacific islands have confirmed the probable existence of an “electro-jet,” a narrow equatorial electric current that circles the earth in the high atmosphere. This is one of the three hypo-thecated currents of perhaps several hundred thousand amperes circling the earth. The others girdle the north and south magnetic pole*. (
