The first Solomon Islands student to go to Cambridge University passed through Port Moresby today on his way to England. He is 25-year-old Francis Talasasa, who gained his master of arts degree at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, last year.

Mr Talasasa, with his 19-year-old wife, Merle, will study overseas civil service for the Solomon Islands Administration fpr one year at Cambridge. His wife will study domestic science.
