AUSTRALIAN WOOL SALES

(NJZ. Press Association—Copyright) BRISBANE, September 25. The Brisbane Woolselling Brokers’ Association reported a full clearance of the offering of 15,877 bales at today’s Brisbane wool sales. Main buyers were Japan, the Continent, and Great Britain. Competition was very keen for well-grown wools, but faulty types were difficult to sell at, times. The values were very firm compared with yesterday and showed little change compared with Monday’s opening rates. The selection comprised average to good topmaking types and included a few good spinner types. Adelaide Sale The Adelaide Woolselling Brokers’ Association said there was little change in rates at the second and final day of the Adelaide wool sales today. Strong quality Merinos, which yesterday were fully 2J per cent, lower than the closing rates at the last -Adelaide wool sales, eased lightly today. The Continent, with the French buyers active. United Kingdom, Australian mills, and Japan were the main bidders. Of the offering of 14,544 bales, 14,207 were cleared. Wool came mostly from the pastoral areas of South Australia, West Darling, and Broken Hill areas.
