Game With South Canterbury

R. H. Duff has declined an invitation from the Canterbury Rugby selectors (Messrs R. C. Stuart and W. F. Clark) to play against South Canterbury in the last provincial match of the season on Saturday. Duff has played 99 games for Canterbury. and his decision not to play prevented him from bringing his total of appearances to 100. R. D. Hoskin, usually a fiveeighths, has been chosen to play at centre three-quarters, outside S. K. Henderson and V. Sykes. L. Ewen, the promising young Technical player, has been brought in to fullback, in place of B. M. J. Dineen, who is not available. The team is:— L. Ewen; R. M. Smith. R. D. Hoskin. G. McConchie; S. K.
