WAR PENSIONERS’ EARNINGS
Allowable Income Increased (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 24. Servicemen receiving less than total disablement pensions would now be allowed extra personal earnings equal to the difference between their weekly disablement pensions and the full pension of £4 10s a week, without in any way affecting their right to economic pension, the Minister in charge of Wter Pensions (Mr Connolly) said today. This concession would encourage disabled ex-servicemen to accept part time or intermittent employment within their capabilities. The concession would operate from October 1, he said. Representations for this concession had. been made by the Returned Services’ Association and the Government had now instructed the War Pensions Board to allow it.
