Subscription Increased
The Canterbury Mountaineering Club’s present income was insufficient for the adequate maintenance of its huts, said, the retiring treasurer (Mr S. J. Harris) at the club’s annual meeting last evening. ’ ■■ • ’ He was moving a iteiolution to increase the club’s annual subscription.; “We have got to make provision for depreciation of our fixed assets,” said Mr Harris. The assets should be built up but of income not from donatiors as had occurred previously. The motion was carried unanimously. The new subscription will be £2 10s, reducible to £2 5s if paid by January 31 for Christchurch members, and £2 5s reducible to £2 for other members. A second motion, that not less than 10 per cent, of the club's subscription income, all but fees, and that sum deemed suitable from the club’s other income, be credited Jo a building and hut maintenance fund, was also carried. Officers elected were:— Patron, Mr S. D. Meares; president, Mr J. F. Hayes; vice-presi-dents, Messrs A. Anderson, A. G. Flower, G. McElroy. A. S. Morgan, S. C. V- Muirson, J. D. Pascoe, J. C. Pattie. C. H. Turner; secretary. Mr W. E. Hannah; treasurer, Mr B. Menzies; auditor. Mr B. Ivory; solicitor, Mr B. Barrer; editor, Mr R. Chapman; committee, Messrs D. Brown. L. Crawford, A. Foot. B. Hearfield. G. Matterson. S. Muff. R. Newton, B. Stickle.
