PROMOTIONS IN POLICE
Senior Officers In List
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 23. Promotions and transfers of officers announced by the Con-troller-General of Police (Mr W. S. Brown) today were:— To chief superintendent.—Superintendent F. N. Aplin, national head of the Criminal Investigation Branch. He will remain at police headquarters, ' Wellington. Superintendent W. R. Murray, of Auckland. Mr Murray is also appointed officer-in-charge of the Auckland police district, succeeding Assistant Commissioner’ W. Carran, who was recently appointed Deputy ControllerGeneral. Mr Murray was formerly in charge of the C. 1.8., Auckland.
To superintendent.—Chief Inspector J. T. McGrath, officer-in-charge of the Napier District, who is appointed to command of the Dunedin district on his promotion. Other district commands announced by Mr Brown were:— Chief Inspector A. C. Davis, of Rotorua, to be officer-in-charge of the Napier district; Inspector F. Hayhurst, of Tauranga, to be officer-in-charge of the North Auckland district. Chief Inspector F. J. Brady, of Auckland, is appointed to command of the C. 1.8., Auckland.
