Few Complications From Injections

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept. 23. There has been a remarkable freedom from complications in the 158.600 injections of antipolio vaccine given by the Health Department in Auckland, reports the Medical Officer of Health (Dr. A. S. Wallace>. Not all reactions had been reported by doctors to the department, but a rough estimate was that there was only one reaction in 1800 to 2000 injections. • Most reactions were mild and some were due to sensitivity to the antibiotics, penicillin and streptomycin, which were added in small amounts to the vaccine to make it safer, said Dr. Wallace.

Only three cases of polio have occurred in Auckland so far this year. ' .
