A boy who will be two years old on Sunday, yesterday had his twenty-second operation since he swallowed some caustic soda 10 months ago. He is Ray James Marsom, a son of Constable W. H. Marsom, of Onehynga, and formerly of Gisborne;

The boy found the caustic soda in long grass in the grounds of a house at Gisborne into which the Marsom family had just moved. He spent 53 days in the Gisborne Hospital, and was flown to the Auckland Hospital when his father was transferred to Auckland. His condition last night after the operation was quite satisfactory.
