PRIZES ANNOUNCED IN PLAY CONTEST

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 23.

Mr John Mihell, of Wellington, was the winner of the British Drama League’s 1958 playwriting competition, with his one-act play “To Whom It May Concern.” it was announced today The second and third placlngs in the open section, judged by Mrs Nora Ratcliff, of Bristol. England, went to Mrs Iris Fowler, of Wellington, with ' ‘Even A Sparrow,” and Mrs Jean Lawrence of Blenheim, with “The Cornice." The women's section, judged by Mr John Bourne, editor of the “New Plays Quarterly," London, was won by Mrs Jean Lawrence, of Blenheim, with “The Time Factor” and the runner-up was Miss Audrey King, of Christchurch, with “Murderers Never Talk.”
