France’s First Atom Bomb

The Paris newspaper ‘‘FranceSoir” reported today that France’s first atom bomb would soon be ready for testing.
The date of the first test explosion would be fixed by the Prime Minister (General de Gaulle) at an “opportune psychological moment,” it said. &
