NEW WOOLSTON POST OFFICER
Ferry Road Site Acquired
A new’ post office will be built in Woolston. It will be on a section at the corner of St. John street and Ferry road, opposite the site of the proposed new St. John's Church and not far from the projected road tunnel approach junction.
The new office would replace the existing W'oolston premises in Ferry road that were now inadequate to cater for the heeds of a fast expanding district, a spokesman for the Post and Telegraph Department said yesterday. The spokesman said the department had acquired the site some months ago. An uninhabited house on it had been demolished and the section cleared to be ready for building. No date had been given for a start on construction but it might possibly be next year, he said.
