“Morally”
Sir,—ln your paper you report the word morally to have been used in Parliament by one of the members. I would be interested to know why the expression, “legally but not morally," is so often heard nowadays. Could you tell me who appoint themselves arbiters pf morals? It cannot be the churches because they disagree on such matters as divorce and birth control. It cannot be people’s individual consciences because they also differ.—Yours, etc., WHAT NEXT. September 11, 1958.
