Swimming Australian Coaches Criticised
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, September 6. Some Australian swimmers are spending "far too much time away from their schooling,” according to Mr Justice Herron, president of the New South Wales Swimming Association.
Speaking at the association’s annual meeting, he said: “Some of you professional coaches might’ search your conduct and see if you find everything satisfactory. “While professionals are among the most valuable men in the game, and we acknowledge a debt to them, I think we must operate in the framework of amateurism.”
