TEAM FOR GORDON CUP
The Canterbury team to travel to Wellington for the second of the home and away matches for the Gordon Cup was announced by the Canterbury selector, Mr R. Smith on Saturday as follows:; J. Callaghan; A. Juner, W. Charlton; R. Durant, I. Graham, W. Rodger; A. Trotter, T. Munro, E. Charlton, P. Rennell, D. Worthington. Reserves: P. Fletcher and M. Shardlow. There is a doubt whether Callaghan has fully recovered from an injury received a few weeks ago, and if he is not available, H. Langley will be in goal. Callaghan has been Canterbury’s regular goalkeeper for several seasons, and Juner and Charlton have been paired, together as fullbacks in representative games this year. Durant and Rodger have been first choice as flank halves for several games, but I. Graham has his. chance in the centre-half position because of the absence of A. Laffey with the New Zealand side. Of the forwards, the only newcomer is A. Trotter, a young Western player with a bright future.
