Conference At Yalta
BUDAPEST. September 6. The Soviet Prime Minister, Mr Nikita Khrushchev, has been holding a top-level meeting with East European Communist leaders at Yalta in the Soviet Union, according to reliable reports reaching Budapest Hungarian sources have confirmed that the First Secretary ot the Hungarian Communist Party, Mr Janos Kadar, was visiting Yalta and would “take whatever opportunity for discussions that offered itself.” It is presumed in Budapest that many Communist leaden have taken the opportunity, when they were visting Russia for vacations or other purposes, to exchange opinions on current international problems.
Among others at Yalta, according to the reports, are the Polish leaders Mr Gomulka and Mr Jozef Cyfanklewicz, >the President and Communist Party leader of Czechoslovakia, Mr Antonin Novotny, the East German Communist chief, Mr Walter Ulbricht, and an unnamed Rumanian leader.
There was no precise information on the topics under discussion.
Tn Moscow two days ago, Mr Khrushchev /told the British Labour Member of Parliament, Mr Konni Zilliacus, that he had temporarily interrupted his holiday in the Crimea to “finish some urgent jobs.”
