South Island Maori Games
Twelve teams took part in the twenty*first South Island Maori [womeirs basketball tournament at Tuahiwi at the week-end. The two section winners in the senior grade. Otautihi and Maori Community Centre, both of Christchurch, diew 0-0. * n the final and 4-4 in the replayJ The teams were declared joint Taht junior section was won by HtnAara A (Temuka) with seven points. Pipiwharauroa (Tuahiwi) and ' Raplki (Lyttelton) were runners-up. Tie following players have been chojen to play for the South Island / Malri women's basketball team - dgfnst North Island Maoris:— S Vincent (Otautahi). M. Spern (N.Y.C.), V. Lucas (M.C.C.), P.
