Man Crushed In Bush Accident
(Neio Zealand Press Association) OPOTIKI, August 8. Working in the bush at Toatoa on his own, Mr Ronald Campbell, aged 25, single, had his left leg crushed between two logs yesterday. He was held for three hours before he managed to drag his axe towards him with a supplejack, and release his leg. The accident occurred at 9.30 a.m., and it took Mr Campbell another two hours after he released himself to reach help. He was admitted to the Opotiki Hospital at 5 p.m.
