“Hussein Last Of Mohicans”
(Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 8. A Russian magazine yesterday called King Hussein of Jordan “the last of the Mohicans” and said his days on the throne were numbered. »
The magazine, “Sovietskaya Rossiya,” , quoted by Moscow Radio, said* that King Hussein, “now sitting in his royal palace trembling with fear . . . would gladly give up his throne and leave Jordan for good. “Yet there is a force which has so far kept him on the shaky and dangerous throne and perhaps is also keeping British forces in Jordan. This force is the American empire. “Thus Jordan has become the last stronghold of colonialism and imperialism and King Hussein has become the last of the Mohicans, the last imperialist agent' in the Middle East. “How long can such a regime last? The facts indicate its days are numbered,” the magazine said.
