COMMUNITY CHOIRS’ FESTIVAL
A community choirs festival I would be held iia.the Canterbury! University hall on September 17.! the chairman of the Civic Music' Council <Mr J. L. Hay) told a| meeting of the council. Choirs participating would be the Addington Workshops Male Voice Choir, the--Aeolian Choir. Hay's Litd. Choir. Risingholme Choir, and the South Brighton Choral Society, and the massed choirs would be conducted by Professor Vernon Griffiths, MiHay said. On September 23 a festival at Temuka would include performances by the Hinds, Temuka and Waimate choral societies, the Timaru Musical Society and the Temuka District High School. Mr Hay said it was hoped that a concert would be arranged with the Orchestral Society and perhaps the Society of Recorder Players.
