100th Birthday Celebrated
(New Zealand Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 4. A former West Coast resident living at Rangimarie Home in New Plymouth, Mrs Ellen Ann Kyle, today celebrated her one hundredth birthday. Among the many messages she received was one from the Queen. Mrs Kyle lost a leg as the result of an accident some years ago and spends most of her days in a wheelchair, where she sews and reads.
Mrs Kyle has two sons and two daughters, 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Members of the family were present at a birthday celebration this afternoon.
