Ski Club’s Plans Upset
Rooms for about 160 had been booked at the Lodge for this week-end by the newly-formed Amuri Ski Club wh’ch had planned to hold its opening week-end there. The club’s St. James’ ski run is on Mount Patrick, a few miles from Hanmer, which the club had chosen as its headquarters. The fire means that the club has lost the accommodation upon which it was relying. The club’s committee decided last evening that although a dinner and ball at the Lodge could not now be held, the club would hold an inspection of the ski grounds on the St. James’ station on Saturday. On Saturday evening there will be a buffet dinner in the Woodbank woolshed.
Although the club’s tow is operating there is not yet sufficient snow for ski-ing.
