MALAYAN APPLE MARKET
Dominion’s Bid (N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) SINGAPORE. July 3. New Zealand would make a bid for more of the Malayan apple market the Dominion’s assistant trade commissioner in Singapore (Mr H. W. Shepherd) said today. He said that a director of the New Zealand Apple and Pear Marketing Board 'Mr K. H. Longmore) and the board’s assistant general manager (Mr D. Waller) were en route to Malaya to make an “on the spot” survey. Mr Shepherd said that New Zealand would ship 9000 cases of its current apple crop to Malaya. This was onlv a small proportion of the Dominion’s total apple production He believed that New Zealand apples would sell well in this country “I would not be surprised if Malayan imports of New Zealand apples did not increase at least fivefold next season,” he added.
Dominion Breweries.—Dominion Breweries, Ltd., is paying an unchanged final dividend of 5 per cent, on preference and ordinary shares, making 10 per cent, for the year. In the case of the new issue ordinary shares the dividend will be calculated on amounts, exclusive of premiums, paid-up from time to time to March 31. Dividends are payable August I.—(P.A.)
