A LINK WITH EARLY CHRISTCHURCH.—This old water-wheel is in an Ansley terrace garden, where it has been for more than 60 years. Its days of usefulness are over, but it once served to pump water from an artesian well to a house on a higher level. The wheel also ensured a supply of running water for a large aquarium, which was one of the attractions of the district.
